SOMERSWORTH — Arthur H. Turgeon, 69, of 43 Myrtle St., died at his home on Saturday Sept. 17, 2005, after a period of declining health.He was born in Somersworth, N.H., on July 15, 1936, and was the son of Gerard and Laura (Patenaude) Turgeon. He was raised in Somersworth and attended St. Martin Academy. He was a graduate of Somersworth High School.He was a life long resident of Somersworth.He was a carpenter by trade, and was self employed most of his working career.While attending Somersworth High, he was active in football and was the Captain of the schools Football Team. Through his life he always enjoyed sports and often attended the Shriners Football Games.He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a member of the Local Carpenters Union 921.Family members include his daughters, Christine Jones of Somersworth and Paula Troiano and her husband, Matthew, of New Durham; three sons, Daniel Turgeon and his wife, Joanne, of Gonic, Timothy Turgeon and his wife, Judith, of Somersworth and Matthew Turgeon and his wife, Julie, also of Somersworth. He leaves three brothers, Roland Turgeon of Somersworth, Rene Turgeon of Farmington and Armand Turgeon of Rollinsford; four sisters, Arlene Binnette of Rochester, Mrs. Richard (Anita) Faulhber of N. Port, Fla., Mrs. Robert (Pauline) Moore of Lebanon, Maine and Mrs. Norman (Jeannie) Dube of Somersworth. Other family members include his six grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and cousins.He was predeceased by his wife, Madeleine C. Labbe, who died in 1993.Calling hours at Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South St., Somersworth, will be on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Martin Catholic Church, W. High and Maple Street, with the Rev. Aaron Pfaff, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Somersworth.
