Arthur Curry Arthur Curry, 85, who retired as a cook for Leon County Schools, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday at St. Mary Primitive Baptist Church on Georgia Street, with burial at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. EDT Friday at Strong & Jones Funeral Home (224-2139) and from 9 a.m. EDT until the service Saturday at the church.A longtime resident of Tallahassee, he was a native of Columbia in Taylor County, Ark., and was raised in Lawrence, Miss. He was a World War II Army veteran. He also retired from Tallahassee Federal Bank. He was a member of St. Mary Primitive Baptist Church on Georgia Street. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Essie M. Curry of Tallahassee; a son, David Watson (and wife Elease) of Midway; four grandchildren, Thomas Watson, Dwight Watson (and wife Margret), David Watson (and wife LeKecia), all of Tallahassee, and Anita Watson of Midway; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Inez Smith of Jackson, Miss., and Earnestine Thames (and husband Joe) of Sandusky, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Smith and Annie Mae Curry of Tallahassee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
