Arthur Carter, of 403 1/2 Gower St., died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005, at his home. Born in Abbeville, S.C., he was the son of the late John and Marie Carter.He retired in 1981 from Woodside Mill with 55 1/2 years of service.Survivors: daughters, Marian Williams of Baltimore, Md., Ruth Ferrell and Arlene Carter, both of Greenville, and Jeanette Carter of Fort Washington, Md., and grandchildren, Dawna Dodd of Glen Burnie, Md., and Cherilyn J. Carter of Charlotte, N.C.Funeral service: 6 p.m. Wednesday at the United House of Prayer, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
