WENTWORTH -- Arthur Charles Morrison, 79, of Buffalo Road, died April 3, 2009, at the Grafton County Home in North Haverhill. He was born in Wentworth on Jan. 30, 1930, to William A. and Hazel (Whitney) Morrison. He attended Wentworth Elementary School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1948. He resided in Wentworth for most of his life. He married L. Priscilla Tuttle on Aug. 14, 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1950 and served in the National Guard. Mr. Morrison worked for the Merrimack Farmers Exchange for about 30 years. He went on to become a salesperson for H.K. Webster, R.C. Filkins and L.D. Oliver Seed Co. of Milton, Vt. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Wentworth Fire Department and volunteer ambulance attendant for the Cottage Hospital Ambulance Service in Woodsville. He also served for about 20 years as an auxiliary state trooper for Troop F. He served as a Wentworth selectman, health officer, police constable and school board and town moderator. In addition to his wife, family includes sons James Morrison of Barrington, Lee Morrison and Randy Morrison, both of Wentworth, and Tom Morrison of Plymouth; daughter Cathy Houde of Dover; brother Donald &quot;Shorty&quot; Morrison of Alma, Ga.; sisters Wilma Smiley of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Joan Ames of Wentworth; 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours are Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St., Plymouth. Funeral service is Thursday at 10 a.m. in Wentworth Congregational Church. The Rev. John Wentworth, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held in Foster Cemetery, Wentworth.
