Lyons, Arthur B. EAST GREENBUSH Arthur B. Lyons, 85, of East Greenbush, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Ossining, N.Y., he graduated New Paltz High School. He retired in 2002 from the East Greenbush schools maintenance department after 11 years, and previously worked for Railway Express Agency for 39 years and Price Chopper for 12 years. Arthur was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Air Force. He was a member of American Legion and K of C in Rensselaer, and has been an usher at Church of Holy Spirit for 40 years. Arthur's greatest love was his family. He also enjoyed stamp collecting and was a member of various collecting societies. Predeceased by his parents Arthur B. and Lillian (Rasmussen) Lyons, and a daughter, Mary Beth Warner Lyons. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ellen C. (Carswell) Lyons of East Greenbush; two daughters, Barbara (Edward) Beazley Lyons of Friendwood, Texas and Lauretta (Steven) LeFevre of Niskayuna; and two sons, Dr. Arthur B. (Kathy) Lyons III of Granitebay, Calif. and Stephen P. (Marlene) Lyons of Montross, Pa.; 10 grandchildren Kellie, Erin, Paul, Sean, Clare, Arthur IV, Samuel, Elizabeth, Emily, Kathleen and Maegan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral 8:30 a.m. on Friday from Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer, N.Y. and 9:00 a.m. at Church of Holy Spirit in East Greenbush where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated. Friends may call in the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y. The family has requested that those who wish to remember Arthur make contributions to the Holy Spirit Church, 667 Columbia Tpk., East Greenbush, NY 12061 in his memory.
