Obituary of Arlie-Lee Carter


LEITCHFIELD CARTER, ARLIE LEE, 77, of Leitchfield, died Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY. He was born October 18, 1927, in Grayson County, KY, the son of Lewis and Bertha Bozarth Carter. He was the plant superintendent at Lowes Concrete and a member of Little Clifty Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carter, four sisters and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Armstrong Carter of Leitchfield; one son, Erdie Lewis Carter Sr. and his wife, Donna, of Eliza-bethtown; three daughters, Sandy Brooks and her husband, Ronald, of Caneyville, KY, Loletta Butler and her husband, Alan, of Paducah, KY, and Hope Flannery and her husband, Mel, of Louisville; two special nephews, Jeff Armstrong and his wife, Brenda, and Ricky Armstrong and his wife, Pam, all of Falls of Rough, KY; two brothers, Fred Carter of Louisville and Ray Carter of Leitchfield; three sisters, Nora Bell, Dora Carter and Dorothy Morrison, all of Louisville; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchil-dren; and four great-grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. CST Sunday at Little Clifty Baptist Church in Leitchfield. Burial will be in Leitchfield Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. CST Saturday at Watson & Hunt Funeral Directors in Leitchfield.
