BANGOR and MILBRIDGE Arlene T. Parker, 76, of Bangor, formerly of Milbridge, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 29, 1931, in Milbridge, the daughter of the late Walter J. and Lozina (Lindsey) Tibbetts. Mrs. Parker worked for many years at area factories including fish, clam and blueberry factories. She also enjoyed raking blueberries and most recently she worked at the former Atlantic Nursing Home, Milbridge, and Narraguagus Bay Health Care Facility, Milbridge, where she was a nurses aid and assisted in the housekeeping for more than 20 years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary having served five years as secretary and treasurer of Post No. 8, Cherryfield. She was also a 50-year member of Milbridge Grange No. 291. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, crocheting, Beano, swimming and boating the Atlantic. Best of all, she loved playing with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed babysitting them, which kept her young. She shared 60 years of marriage with the late Elmer "Buddy" Parker, who died Dec. 18, 2007. Family members include three children, James W. Parker and wife, Susan, of Veazie, Patricia A. Parker of Ellsworth, and Beverly J. Prickett and husband, Michael, of Bradford. Arlene had been blessed with nine grandchildren, Michael Parker and wife, Jennifer, of Northport, Jeffery Parker and wife, Joelle, of Holden, Jonathan Parker and wife, Jenni, of Veazie, Bevi-Jo Pinkham and husband, Richard, of Milbridge, Rebecca Rumery and companion, Danny Walker, of Prospect Harbor, Donald Rumery and wife, Kimberly, of Florida, Travis Noyes and wife, Kersten, of Veazie, Katrina Noyes of Bangor, and Michael Prickett of North Carolina, 19 great-grandchildren, Elisabeth, Thomas, Emilia, Joseph, Jacob, Abby, Kohle, Noah, Megan, Matthew, Drew, Bryan, Damian, Danny Jr., Donald Jr., Amanda, Parker, Hannah and Madison; three sisters, Sylvia Strout of Gouldsboro, Lois Carter of Milbridge and Virginia Grahm of Jonesport; a brother, Walter J. Tibbetts Jr. of Steuben; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters, Plooma Cheney, Florence Emery and Ernestine Benner; by two brothers, Frank M. Tibbetts and Gerald Tibbetts; and by an adoptive sister, Medrith Torey. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Faith Bible Fellowship Church, Back Bay Road, Milbridge, with Pastor Ambrose Rolfe officiating. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be held at Rock Maple Cemetery, Harrington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Bible Fellowship Church, P.O.
