Arlene G. "Nee Nee" Parker Gary, IN [christiancross.jpg] Arlene G. "Nee Nee" (Holman) Parker , age 51, of Gary, Indiana died with her family by her bedside Thursday afternoon July 31, 2003 in the Northlake Methodist Hospital after a brief illness. Ms. Parker was born on October 10, 1951 in Gary, Indiana to George Holman, Sr. and Ethel (Best) Dixon. She leaves behind her loving daughter, LaDonna (Don) Phillips of Indianapolis, Indiana and her loving sons, Demetrius (Yvette) Holman, Sr. of Gary, Indiana and Anthony (Anastasia) Holman of Indianapolis, Indiana. Also surviving is her loving father George Holman, Sr. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, her loving step-mother, Edwina Holman of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, her loving sisters, Clida Best, Vivan (Ricky) Williamson both of whom are of Gary, Indiana and Brenda Williams of Washington D.C. Her loving brothers Calvin (Evergene) Best of Merrillville, Indiana, Marvin (Shih-Hua) Holman of Tinley Park, Illinois, Peter Holman, Sr. of Indianapolis, Indiana, Robert (Melba) Holman of Warren Robins, Georgia, Mark Holman of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Lucky Holman of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and seven loving grandchildren, Fantasy, Aaryon, Demetrea, Jordann, Alexandria, Demetrius, Jr. and Ashley. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Ethel Dixon and her beloved brother, George Homan, Jr. who died in April of 2003. Ms. Parker was an Inventory Coordinator for U.S. Steel for twenty-six years before she became ill and was a faithful member of the First A.M.E. Church in Gary, Indiana. "Nee Nee" as she was affectionately known, was a loving and devoted mother and lived her life filled with grace and loving kindness. Funeral services will be offered in celebration of the life of Arlene G. Parker at 2 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2003 with the Reverend Danny Baker officiating in the Ridgelawn Funeral Home Chapel, 4201 West Ridge Road (219)980-5555. The family will receive guests from 10:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Ms. Parker to the donor's choice. "Nee Nee" will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends. MAY GOD GRANT HER ETERNAL REST.
