Obituary of Arlene Jones


JONES, retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col Arlene, who was bom August 1, 1923, died April 1, 2008. Her last residence was at Franciscan Villa, Broken Arrow, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Edna (Dotterer) Jones of Union Bridge, Md., and by her sister, Mary Susan DeBaldo of Tampa. Arlene graduated from Western Maryland College. She enlisted in the Air Force, becoming an officer. During her 25 years with the Air Force, Arlene was on the Air Force Advisory Board and also helped with Military Academy Referrals. Arlene belonged to the Women in Military Service for the American Memorial Foundation, where her name is included at Washington D.C. After her retirement, she became an active volunteer for the Republican Party in Florida and helped with Connie Mack' s campaign. Also, she helped with the Bush campaign and was personally thanked by both Barbara and George Bush for her dedication. Leni is survived by her niece and husband, Debora and Fred Skalski, and their children, Vincent Skalski and Heather Hixson, and her children, Katrina, Lillian and Alexander. She is also survived by her nephew and his wife, Bruce and Coleen DeBaldo, and their children, Leslie Stewart and her husband, Ken, and their son, Tyler, and Maggie DeBaldo and her friend, Alex Wong. Additionally, she has many cousins in and around Union Bridge, Md. Also, she is survived by her dear friends, Ann and Bob Taylor. Stanley Funeral Service
