Henderson, Arlene C.Nov. 16, 1922 - Aug. 1, 2013Arlene C. Henderson, devoted mother, grandmother, tireless volunteer and amazing teacher, passed away at home on August 1, 2013 in Siesta Key, Florida. She was born on November 16, 1922 in Manlius, NY. She was a resident of Rochester, NY for many years and she is predeceased by her husband, Gordon H. Henderson. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Henderson Del Pozzo, Rochester, NY, her four beloved grandchildren, Jason Del Pozzo (Providence, RI), Ashley Del Pozzo (San Francisco, CA) Alex Del Pozzo (Atlanta, GA) and Brady Del Pozzo (Boston, MA). In-Laws, Warren Henderson and Elaine Arnold. Special nephew, Gaylon Arnold and wife, Bonnie. Life-long friend, Edith Schoonmaker. Many other friends, family, and caregivers. Arlene was a lifelong learner and teacher. She taught many grades but her love was kindergarten and she was a first teacher for many in Penfield, NY. She was a tireless volunteer for her church, hospitals in NY and Florida and many other humanitarian organizations. She loved to read, do jigsaw puzzles, swim, and knit. She donated hundreds of her hand knit sweaters to babies in NY and Florida. A memorial service will be held at Siesta Key Chapel, Gleason Ave., Siesta Key on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 11:00 am.
