Annie Ruth Montgomery, 85, of Florence, died Thursday, May 17, 2007.Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence. The service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Donnie McDaniel and the Rev. Bill Uhlman officiating.Interment will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.Preceding her in death were her parents, Harper and Vergie Whitten; husband, Herschel V. Montgomery; son, Larry H. Montgomery; grandson, Tony Dodd; sister, Ruby Clayton; and mother- and father-in-law, Cora and Lonnie Montgomery.She is survived by her daughter, Faye Pierce and husband, Jim; grandsons, Jason Montgomery, Jeffrey Montgomery and wife, Daniella, of Mobile, and Jody Dodd and wife, Erica, of Florence; granddaughter, Stacy Allen and husband, Nathan, of Muscle Shoals; three grandsons, Gavin and Gunner Dodd, of Florence, and Rhett Montgomery, of Mobile; two great-granddaughters, Payton and Chloe Allen, of Muscle Shoals; daughter-in-law, Margaret Montgomery, of Florence; sister, Maime Johnson, of Florence; stepgrandson, Sam Pierce, of Decatur; stepgranddaughter, Alison Ballesteros and husband, Al, of Hartselle; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.Pallbearers will include Jason Montgomery, Jeffrey Montgomery, Jody Dodd, Nathan Allen, Sam Pierce and All Ballesteros. Honorary bearer will be Jimmy Dodd.The last word Ruth wrote were, "I love Jesus." Now she is with her Jesus, her family and friends having a celebration homecoming.Spry Serenity Chapel, of Florence, is directing.
