Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Ridgeville, for Annie Ruth Johnson, Gadsden, who died Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Pastor Joseph Rowser Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Services entrusted to Gadsden Memorial Funeral Home.She was preceded in death by her husband, Beatrice Johnson Jr.; daughter, Patricia Johnson; sister, Ola Mae Deyampt; and parents, George and Jenia Flambo.She leaves cherished memories for her daughters, Julia Jackson and Joyce Johnson, Gadsden; son, Billy Johnson (Charlene), Gadsden; sister, Vera Demoss, Alabaster; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren and special friends.Special thanks to seventh-floor MICU nursing staff, Gadsden Regional doctors, Hemant Sinha and staff, Sammye Bradley, B.J. Patel and Narayan, Kaplan, Kaleem, Bogdanova, Gleen and Melissa Leslie, City Pharmacy and Amedisys Health Care staff. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service.
