Obituary of Annie-Ray Williams


WILLIAMS Annie Ray Williams (Anne), 90, died January 24, 2014. She was born October 1, 1923 to Roy S. and Bessie I. Dunwoody, in Chattooga County, GA. She was a graduate of the Girls High School in Rome, GA in 1940, and was employed by Celanese Corp. of America before moving to Jacksonville, FL in 1952. She was employed by Swisher International, Inc. (formerly Jno. H. Swisher & Son, Inc.) for 36 years in Purchasing, retiring in 1988. She was a charter member and past president of the Port-O-Call Chapter of The American Business Women's Association. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Louis Williams, Sr. in Sept. 2000. Survivors include her step-son Robert L. Williams, Jr. (LaVerne), Gainesville FL; brother Vernon W. Dunwoody, Sr. (Virginia), Rome, GA; nieces Kay D. Marshall (Craig), Jacksonville, FL and Donna D. Young (Charlie), Woodstock, GA; nephews Kermit E. Dunwood, Sr. (Diane), Jacksonville, FL and Vernon W. Dunwood, Jr., Jonesboro, GA, and many other relative and friends in Jacksonville and Rome, GA. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Edgewood Cemetery 4519 Edgewood Dr. Arrangements under the direction of Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Chapel, 729 S.
