Annie Mae Powell, 86, of 2234 Country Club Road, died Jan. 5, 2001, at Allen Bennett Memorial Hospital. A native of Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Bessie Martin Bridwell, a retired employee of J.P. Stevens, Victor plant, and of the Methodist faith. Surviving are her husband, Grady H. Powell of the home; two sons, Jack and Kenneth Powell both of Greer; two daughters, Barbara Greene of Greer and Patty Sims of Easley; a sister, Nellie Garrett of Greenville; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. today at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Ansel Norris. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David and Chris Powell, Joel Greene, Keven Parker, Jamie Culbreath and Larry Bridwell. The family is at the home. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. today at The Wood Mortuary.
