Obituary of Annie Johnson


Annie Southerlin Johnson, 96, of 409 Randall St., died Nov. 6, 2007.She was the widow of the late John W. Johnson and the daughter of the late William and Lillie Coleman Southerlin. She was retired from the Greenville County School District as food service manager. Prior to that, she was associated with J.P. Stevens Slater Plant as the first lady supervisor. She was a member of Earle Street Baptist Church.Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Willie Epps and Mrs. Margaret Stroud of Marietta and Mrs. Patsy Bishop and husband, Dewey, of Travelers Rest; brothers, John G. Southerlin and wife, Doris, of Travelers Rest and Charles Southerlin and wife, Sylvia, of Dacusville. She was predeceased by sisters, Mrs. Violet Balding and Miss Jorene Southerlin; and a brother, Eugene Southerlin of Warsaw, Mo.The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in Marietta First Baptist Church Cemetery.Thanks to special family, Michele, Roy and son, Branden Patterson and the staff at Oakmont East Nursing Center.In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Meals on Wheels, Marietta First Baptist Church Maintenance Fund or Earle Street Baptist Church.
