She was born in Dozier, AL, on December 3, 1914 to Ora Estelle and David Burie McLaughlin.Annie was retired from Civil Service. She was a member of the Ferry Pass United Methodist Church and the New Life Sunday School Class. She was a very independent woman and an inspiration to everyone who knew her.Annie is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Ross Johnson, Jr; her parents; grandson, Shane King; sisters, Nadine Martin, Orelia Bass, Evelyn Anson and Helen Burleson; her brothers, William Joseph (W.J.) McLaughlin, Raymond Arnold (Mac) McLaughlin and David McLaughlin.She is survived by her daughters, Esther Johnson Turner (Edgar) and Rosann Johnson McLeod (Powers); grandchildren, Kay Turner Willson (Clint), Jennifer Turner Mitchell (Buck), Christopher Turner (Laura), Kristin Ashley King, Katy McLeod Leopard (Bailey) and Robert McLeod (Nikki) and 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Don McLaughlin (Maureen), Rex McLaughlin (Aline) and Mahlon McLaughlin (Alta Grace); sisters-in-law, Laurie McLaughlin and Alene McLaughlin and numerous loving nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held 1:00pm Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Ferry Pass United Methodist Church.
