Annie Jackson, born in 1909, spouse of Arthur Jackson, daughter of Thomas and Ellen, died on November 21, 2004.
JACKSON, Annie (nee Hanlon) Annie Jackson (Hanlon), born in Scotland March 23, 1909, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 21, 2004. Annie immigrated to Montreal in 1918 where she married and raised her family. At the age of fifty, she realized a life long dream of becoming a school teacher. Annie taught in Montreal for fifteen years. Her love of her chosen profession was evident in her classroom and with her students. Annie moved to Ottawa in 1986 to be close to her family. Annie was a proud and devoted mother and grandmother. Her love, strength, and support will be sadly missed, but we are left with many memories of happy times. Annie's honesty, strength of character, and sense of humour were examples to us all. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her love of teaching and her fondness of cats. Annie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Ellen and son-in-law Brian Metcalfe, her grandchildren Robert (Catherine) and Brianna, and her great grandchildren Kristoffer and Julien. Annie will now join her parents Ellen and Thomas, her loving husband Arthur, her beloved brothers Thomas, John, James and sisters Dorothea, Ellen and Jane in eternal life and peace. We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of the New Orchard Lodge for the kindness and care given to Annie. We would also like to thank all the relatives and friends whose prayers and support helped Annie with her journey home. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home 580 Eagleson Road, Kanata, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Thursday to St Patricks Church, Fallowfield, for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to the M.S. Society of Canada, Ottawa-Chapter.
