SMITH Annie Bly Smith, 78, Yulee, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2007. Annie was born in Sopchoppy, Florida on June 22, 1928. She had resided in Jacksonville for most of her adult life; however, she moved to Yulee about six years ago to be near her daughter. Annie Bly was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. She enjoyed company and loved reminiscing with family and friends reliving the fun times they had shared together. Annie Bly was an avid reader and believed that books could take you anywhere. Annie Bly was of the Baptist faith and attended Believers Joy Worship Center on Yellow Bluff Road when she was able. She was a woman of great faith. Annie Bly was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James C. (Jake) Smith, her son Stanley Clark, a daughter Patty LeBlanc, and a step-son Donald Smith. She is survived by one son, Wayne Clark, two daughters, Dianne Popwell (Steve) and Darlene Johnson. She has four step-sons Carl Smith (Barbara), Timothy Smith (Debbie), Edward Smith (Sharon), and David Smith (Charlotte). She is also survived by one sister, Alice Priest. Her legacy included twenty-four grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all. Family visitation to greet friends will be on Friday, June 22, 2007 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hardage- Giddens Main Street Funeral Home, 4315 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Main Street Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lyle Shiferdek officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
