ANNE SMITH COCOA BEACH Anne W. Smith died peacefully at home on Thursday, March 30, 2006, at age 82. She is survived by Arch Smith, her devoted husband of 17 years; four children, Robert Cullen, Chuck Cullen, Carolyn Gentry and Shawn Cullen; and two granddaughters, Dawn Patterson and Kris Gentry. Born and raised in Utica, New York, Anne attended the Ameri can Academy of Acting. As an Air Force wife she and her first husband, Robert I. Cullen, raised their four children through many reallocations around the country and the Philippines before finally settling in Cocoa Beach. Anne owned and operated the Brigantine Art Gallery in Cocoa Beach for 17 years. Long active with the Surfside Players, she directed numerous plays in cluding Dracula, The Cat and the Canary and Laura. In 1983 she received the Best Director award. In 1989 Anne Married Arch Smith. They divided their time between Cocoa Beach and Burnsville, North Carolina. Anne loved their summer residence in the mountains above Burnsville and shared many happy and ful filling seasons with Arch there. A memorial gathering will be scheduled at a future date.
