CONNOLLY Anne Leahy Age 90 of Elmira, NY passed away on Sunday February 7, 2010 at home. Anne was born August 16, 1919 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Michael A. Leahy and Pauline Conroy Leahy. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY in 1939. Anne was pre-deceased by her former husband Joseph B. Connolly in 1985. She was also pre-deceased by her grandson Jude Connolly and her sister Pauline Connolly. Anne was a 4th generation communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Elmira, NY. Mrs. Connolly was a retired secretary with The Elmira Psychiatric Center. Anne is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: Michael Connolly of Alaska and his children Sean Tracy, Elizabeth Meyer, Raphael Connolly, Tara Connolly Prosser & Loren Prosser, Anastacia Connolly, Gabriel Connolly, Nathan Connolly, and Emmanuel Connolly; Peter Connolly of Rochester, NY and his children Bridget & Christopher Opper and Meaghan & Toby Stroud; Joseph & Jian Connolly of Las Vegas, Nevada and their son Jimmy Ou Connolly; daughters and son-in-law: Mary Connolly-Moore of Elmira, NY and Ellen Connolly-Knapp & Jason Knapp of Lowman, NY and their children Mary Elizabeth Knapp and Anna Leigh Knapp; great grandchildren: Anthony Cohen, Lucy Meyer, Killian Connolly, Grace Opper and Claire Marie Opper; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Annie was a mother to many and nurtured and mentored many children in the 60's. She was an avid reader and loved spending time at Seneca Lake with her children in the summer. She was the "best cook we ever knew" and will be missed by many. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Lynch Funeral Home 318 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY on Sunday February 14, 2010 from 4-6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday February 15, 2010 at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church in Elmira, NY. Interment in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Ridgebury, PA at the convenience of the family.
