Anne Hardin Cannon August 6, 1922- December 17, 2014 Melbourne, FL- Anne Hardin Cannon died in her home in Melbourne, FL on Wednesday, December 17 at 92 years old. Anne was born and raised in Columbus, GA. She attended Wynnton Elementary School, Columbus High School, Shorter College, and The University of Alabama where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. She was formerly a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbus, GA and most recently a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church in Melbourne, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Lovic Hardin and her husband, Lt. Colonel Harry Edward Cannon, Jr. She is survived by her son, Harry Edward Cannon III (Sue) of Melbourne, FL; daughter, Jan Cannon Morris of Tampa, FL; sister, Jean Hardin Monk of Columbus, GA; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Anne's gift of teaching and love of children led her to open a kindergarten and to tutor reading and piano well into her 80s. Her students adored her. Anne had an interesting life as the wife of an Air Force Officer, having been stationed in England, Germany, numerous bases in the US, and Kennedy Space Center on Cape Canaveral where Harry's career concluded with his military retirement. Anne will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and students.
