Anne Ferguson, spouse of Alex Ferguson, daughter of Patrick and Isobel, died. Please consult the obituary here:
FERGUSON, Anne (Nan) 1935-2013 It is with great sadness that the family of Anne Ferguson, affectionately known to many as Nan, announce her passing on December 28, 2013, peacefully in her own bed surrounded by her family at her home at Wexford Creek. Predeceased by her husband Alex, father Patrick Farren, her sister Rose and brothers Philip & Eric. She is survived in Scotland by her mother Isobel Farren, sister Betty, and youngest sister Isobel along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In Canada she is predeceased by her brother in law Joe and is survived by her sons Jim (Linda), David, Farren (Jennifer) and Forbes, Grandchildren; Brandon, Brianna, Lukas and Sarah along with Great Grandson Ben, her nephew Alec and niece Heather. A sports fan through and through Anne could be found 12 months of the year at many of Nanaimo's arena's and sports fields where her familiar "Go! Go! Go! Go!" chant was heard from the first face-off to the final whistle of every lacrosse and hockey game she attended. A proud Canucks fan, Anne would never miss a game and never wavered in her support of the team. In her final years living at Wexford Creek it wasn't uncommon to find her room packed with residents and staff during a Canuck game. It became a large part of her identity and she would vibrate with anticipation of the next game. Words cannot truly express the gratitude of the family to Dr Niilson, all of the staff, volunteers, administrators and residents of Wexford Creek who filled Anne's world with love and affection. She truly felt that Wexford was her home and that those who cared for her were her extended family. Too numerous to name, she loved you all and our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. A service will be held Tuesday January 7, at 2pm at Wexford Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wexford Creek for their fund to purchase a sit to stand unit.
