April 14, 2012 Anne Schlough Evans, 88, of 1303 Nottingham Road, Jamesville, died Saturday, April 14, at Crouse Hospital. Born in Philadelphia in 1924, she grew up in Mt. Lebanon, PA and graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1946 where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. A resident of central New York since 1950, she served on the boards of the Syracuse Boys Club Women's Auxiliary and the Visiting Nurses Association. She was also a long-time volunteer at Crouse Hospital and a member of the Penn State Alumni Association. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur W. Evans, and is survived by her sons, Steven (Kathy) of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Christopher (Robin) of Needham, MA; and two grandsons, Peter and Andrew. A memorial service will be held at DeWitt Community Church, 3600 Erie Blvd. E. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. Donations can be made to the Crouse Health Foundation, Crouse Hospital, 736 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210.
