Obituary of Anne Carter

Anne McKinney Carter, 88, of 601 South West Broad Street, died Saturday, December 23, 2006.A native of Oconee County, Ms. Carter was the daughter of the late Ralph Caleb and Orianna Walker Carter. She was a former president of Carter Oil Company, oldest member of Walhalla Presbyterian Church, and was a charter member of the Nettie Long Circle.Ms. Carter is survived by nieces, Sylvia Rumer of Walhalla, S.C., Ruth Annadell Carter of Columbia, S.C., and Carol Silsby of Longview, Texas; five great-nephews; and a great-niece.In addition to her parents, Ms. Carter was predeceased by brothers, Ralph Crayton Carter and Clifton Walker Carter, and sister, Ruth M.
