ANDERSON -Anne. It is with the deepest regret that the family of Anne Elisabeth Anderson announce her peaceful passing on Friday, January 18, 2008 at the Kindersley Hospital. Born on March 17, 1917 at Rich Valley, Alberta, Anne, born to Oscar and Esther Lindstrom, was the eldest of four including Hilmer, Sigurd, and Astrid Kristine. During the war, Anne went to Halifax to work in the kitchens at the dockyards. Upon her return, she married John E. Anderson and the two of them started a farm southwest of Kindersley where they farmed and lived until John's death. She was involved in numerous church activities and functions, a renowned card player (learning to play bridge at 89 years of age), a volunteer at the Salvation Army for years, and an almost permanent resident of the bowling alley for nearly four decades. Anne lived an active life right up until the end. Anne was predeceased by her husband, John E. Anderson (1963); her sister, Astrid Kristine (2003) and her son-in-law, Ronald G. Bowman (1993). She is survived by her son, Harvey Anderson; daughter, Linda Bowman; four grandchildren, Shauna (Tony) Bedard, Bryan (Loriann) Bowman, Drew (Laura) Bowman and Miles Bowman; and seven great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her friends and deeply mourned by her family. Service was held at Saint Mary's Anglican Church in Kindersley on January 22, 2008 with Reverend Joan Scandrett officiating. The urn bearer was her son, Harvey Anderson. Donations may be made in her name to the Kindersley Plains Museum at Hangers Drycleaners.
