Anna T. Lavallee NEWMARKET - Anna T. Lavallee, 85, of Ash Swamp Road, died October 9, 2014 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Born February 11, 1929, in Durham, she was the daughter of Peter and Claire (Roy) Hamel and attended St. Mary School in Newmarket. Later in life she passed her GED and went on to earn an Associate Degree at Northern Essex College. Anna and her husband Richard raised their family in Haverhill, Mass. where they lived for over fifty years. She was an active communicant of St. Joseph Church and was a Eucharistic Minister there. After Richard died she moved back to Newmarket where she has resided for the past ten years. Presently she was a communicant of St. Mary Church and a former Eucharistic Minister. Anna volunteered in the Oncology Dept. at Hale Hospital for several years. She is a member and past Vice-President of the Newmarket Senior Citizens Group and a member of the Newmarket Historical Society, She enjoyed bowling in the Wednesday Night Bowling League in Newmarket. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Lavallee who died in 2002, her son John Lavallee, her sister Jeanne Filion and her brother Albert Hamel. Anna is survived by four children, Raymond Lavallee and his wife Phyllis, Jeanne Brown and her husband Walter Nydegger Jr., Nancy Guilbert and her husband Timothy, and Brian Lavallee and his wife Kelly; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; six siblings, Lucille LeGault White, Leo Hamel, J. Edward Hamel, Lorraine Miller, Evelyn Abbott and Peter Hamel; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Street, Newmarket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Newmarket. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill, Mass.
