Anna Martin SchenectadyAnna Martin, 88, of Schenectady, NY passed away on Friday February 17, 2012, after a long illness. Born on January 14, 1924 in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Bozalia nee: Grogzi Famiano. Anna was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, Schenectady. Anna was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Schenectady. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by three brothers, two sisters, and her son, David Martin who passed away on May 28, 2011. Survivors include her son, Norman (Sandra) Martin Jr. of Schenectady; a brother, John (Adele) Famiano of Schenectady; four grandchildren, Robert, Serena and Nicholas Martin, and Tina (Ron) Patterson; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:15 a.m. at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. Luke's Church, State St., Schenectady. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Schenectady. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 3 until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
