Anna Belle "Ann" Fendley Stewart, 83, wife of Lewis Stewart for 65 years, of 501 Garrison Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at Hillcrest Hospital.Mrs. Stewart was born on April 29, 1922, in Salem, S.C., to the late William Wesley Fendley and Carrie Bell Littleton Fendley. She graduated as salutatorian of her high school class and attended Mars Hill College. She retired as a customer service representative with W.R. Grace Co. and also from Century 21-The Gresham Co. Mrs. Stewart was Mrs. South Carolina in 1955 and was a member of Simpsonville First Baptist Church.Surviving, in addition to her husband of the home, are a son, Lewis Stewart Jr. of Simpsonville; a brother, Ray Fendley of Anderson; and two sisters, Florence McLain of Anderson and Pauline Hopkins of Toccoa, Ga.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Simpsonville First Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Randy Harling, the Rev. Glen Bolt and the Rev. David Stewart. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
