Smith, a retired accountant with the State of Florida, Department of Health, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011, in Gainesville, Florida.Born July 9, 1946, in Bainbridge, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Myron "Bill" and Nettie Lou Taylor Chester. She earned a B.S. in Association Management from FSU and was a member of Lake Jackson United Methodist Church.She was an avid reader, loved to cook, loved her grandchildren and her dog, Maxie. She was a member of Tallahassee Chapter 119, Order of Eastern Star and had traveled throughout the Southeast with her husband, in his affiliations with the Masonic Lodge.She is survived by her husband, Denny Smith; son, David R. Perkins, Jr., and his wife, Tammy; daughter, Kim Ferrell; grandchildren, Brandon Perkins, Dallas Perkins, Sheldon Ferrell, Haylee Ferrell; sister, Maybelle (David) Montford; stepchildren, Steven (Connie) Smith, Kevin Smith, Tracy (Mark) Erwin, Paul (Kim) Smith; eight step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; niece, Kristin Joyner. The funeral is 1:00 PM, Monday, February 14, 2011, at Lake Jackson United Methodist Church.The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 PM, Sunday, at the funeral home.
