<!-- FH = Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian -->Ann Parker LeeArden - Ann Parker Lee, 81, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Arbor Terrace in Arden after a long illness. An Asheville native and lifelong resident, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Chedester Parker and Charles David Parker. Ann graduated from St. Genevieve of the Pines in 1948. In 1949, she was queen of Asheville's Rhododendron Ball. She was a member of Agnes Scott College's graduating class of 1952. At both St. Genevieve and Agnes Scott, she made lifelong friends. Devoted to both institutions throughout her life, she enthusiastically joined in alumni events. Ann taught biology at Sylvan Hills High School in Atlanta before marrying Charles G. Lee III, as Asheville attorney. They had four daughters. A busy mother and homemaker, Ann enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. She was active in the Junior League, church circles at Central United Methodist Church, and the Asheville chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, for which she served as registrar. She was a shrewd bridge player well into her seventies. In the last decade, Ann and Charles spent much of their time between Asheville and coastal Florida, where they enjoyed boating on Florida's rivers and waterways. Ann is survived by her husband, and their daughters Martha Lee Cowan (Roger) of Asheville, Margaret M. Lee of Decatur, GA, Celeste Lee Hubbard (Dean) of Seneca, SC, Kathryn Lee Springer (Erik) of Denver, CO, and 13 grandchildren. Ann is also survived by a brother, Charles D. Parker Jr., of Asheville. Ann's sister, Lelia Parker Wilson of Winston-Salem, died 16 years ago. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 30 at 11:15 AM at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher, with Rev. Robert M. Blackburn conducting the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813 or to Agnes Scott College, Office of Alumnae Relations, 141 E.
