Ann Elizabeth Godshall Jones, 75, of St. Augustine, Fla., died on Friday, June 18, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 6, 1935, in Union, S.C., and was the daughter of Elmer and Mabel Godshall. Ann was the devoted military wife of Col. (Ret.) George T. Jones, and the mother of two girls, Jane and Beth. Throughout her life, Ann was a member of the Episcopal church, where she served on the Altar guild, St. Catherine's Women's Ministry, Daughters of the King, Eucharist Lay Ministry, Stephens Ministry and the King's Sons and Daughters. Ann also served on the board of the Woman's Exchange.She is survived by her husband, George T. Jones of St. Augustine; daughters, Melissa Jane Bates and her husband, Barry, of Fort Collins, Colo. and Beth Kobes and her husband, Jeff, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Andrew Thomas Bates, Kathryn Ann Bates, Emily Elizabeth Kobes, Callaway Richard Kobes, Avery Grace Kobes and Evan Jeffrey Kobes.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, at Trinity Episcopal Church with Father David Weidner officiating.In lieu of flowers, those wishing can make a donation to Northeast Florida Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
