ADAMS _ It is with profound sadness that the family of Ann Towers Adams announces her unexpected passing at Mission Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 5:30 a.m. Ann was a well-known pioneer of Mission, having been born February 8, 1923, raised and schooled in the Fraser Valley. On October 16, 1943, she married Gordon Gerald Frank Adams, who was also from a pioneer family in the Ridgedale area. Mom's cremated remains will eventually be laid to rest with Dad. Mom was predeceased by the love of her life, Gordon on June 20, 1958, and they have now been reunited. Ann leaves behind her daughter and grandson, Sandy and Gerry, her son-in-law Kelly Maguire, her daughter Karen Venables, and grandsons, Robbie and Colin. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Charlie and Alice Mynors, and brother Bobbie. She leaves to mourn her sisters, Margaret, Joan, Lucy, Phyllis, and Ellen, as well as several extended family members. At this time of year, the family knows that there are many who would like to be present at a memorial but are, in fact, quite involved with Christmas preparations and vacations. A celebration of Mom's life will therefore take place in February. We will put another announcement in the paper in January to remind you of the date, time and location for the Tea. Flowers received by the family have been appreciated, but a little something that would REALLY make Mom smile would be if, in her memory, you would donate bags of dog biscuits, dry food and blankets to the Fraser Valley Humane Society or the Valley Feed Bag to be distributed to those four-legged friends who don't have someone as caring as Mom in their lives.
