ROBERTS _ Anita Mary (nee Robinson) Born on May 30, 1922 in Winchester, England, Mary passed on peacefully on May 23, 2006 at the Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 60 years, Stan, and six children, Paul (Cathy Decevito), David, Jill (Robert) Parliament, Bev (Carlo Ceolaro), John (Charlene), and Dyhan (Gordon Bowen); grandchildren, Kevin (Phey), Brad, Jude (Kathy), Jason, Sean (Jill), Andrea (Brad), Laurel (Mikael), Shareen, Adrian (Lara), Chaara (Keith), Jasmyn (Steve), Nadia (Kevin), Aidan and Djavin and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Kay Fletcher and Peg Rourke and their families in Connecticut. Mary and Stan were wed in Andover, England on VJ Day, 1945. Mary came to Canada in March, 1946, on the S.S. Letitia with 800 other expecting war brides. Her outstanding organizing ability was invaluable as she cared for her rapidly growing family. A born mother, her family was the focus of her life, and her skilled services as seamstress and knitter were unselfishly available to all. In addition, she was at various times a volunteer in the Altar Guild at St. Laurence Church, and at Eagle Ridge Hospital and the Crossroads Hospice Society gift shop. Her genuine interest in others and her irrepressible zest for life endeared her to all who knew her. A service to celebrate her love-filled life will be held at St. Laurence Anglican Church, 825 St. Laurence St., Coquitlam on Saturday, May 27 at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a children's charity of your choice would be appreciated.
