Angela Ancone-Jackson, born in 1950, spouse of Paul Ancone-Jackson, daughter of John and Carmela, died on August 27, 2014 at 64 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Angela Ancone-Jackson, 64, of Upper Montclair, N.J., died on Aug. 27, 2014, surrounded by her family, after a long and heroic battle against illness. Her family will receive friends at the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park St., Montclair, on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cassian's Church in Upper Montclair at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014. For directions and online condolences, please visit www.moriartyfh.com. Angela was born on Jan. 28, 1950, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of Carmela (Deasio) and John Ancone. She had her early education in Brooklyn, moving to North Bergen, N.J., in 1965, where she attended St. Joseph's of the Palisades High School in West New York, N.J. It was there she met her husband, Paul, and graduated in 1967. Due to the premature death of her father, Angela began working at AT&T in Manhattan the week following her graduation from high school. She retired as an account executive after a 17-year career, following the birth of the second of her three children. While working and raising children, Angela attended college part-time, graduating from Bloomfield College with a B.A. in psychology in June 1985. Those who knew and loved her believe she acquired a resilience and determination during this time. This became an integral part of her, and later a valuable asset with her battle with illness. Angela loved dancing and was always the first on the dance floor and last one to leave. She was an avid Knicks fan (pre-Isiah era only) and an amateur sports commentator from her couch. She traveled often with her husband, including several trips to her favorite destination, Florence, Italy. Angela was fiercely loyal to and an advocate for her family. It should be remembered that since her diagnosis, she danced at the weddings of all three of her children and held her two grandchildren in her arms. Angela is survived by her husband of 36 years, Paul; her sister, Catherine Ancone, and her children, Kelly Jackson Cozza and her husband, Justin; Christopher Jackson and his wife, Juliet, and Justin Jackson and his wife, Cassie. Her granddaughters, Sophia Cozza and Olivia Jackson, brought much joy to her life. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, Calif. 90266, would be appreciated.
