-> Andrew Mac McCormick Kelly, 80, died at his home in Reno, NV on July 15, 2004. Born in Savannah, GA mother Josephine O Leary Kelly, father, John Herbert Kelly both deceased. Mac played football and basketball at Savannah High School and graduated from Savannah High School in 1942. He graduated from Georgia Tech in Atlanta with a degree in Industrial Management, played on the varsity football, basketball and baseball teams. He enjoyed a successful one-company career working with Duff Norton, an industrial lifting company serving as the western sals manager for many years. Mac served as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Marine Corp. in the Pacific Theatre in WWII and also in the Korean War, receiving numerous medals, two distinguished Flying Crosses and many Purple Hearts. He test piloted numerous experimental aircraft at the Mojaue test range and retired as a Major in 1956. he attended the Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Our hero battled ALS (Lou Gedhrigs Disease) for ten years and died at home surrounded by his family and Priest and is finally at home in peace with the Lord. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Genevieve; two daughters, Nancy and Laura of Reno; four sons, Drew, Mark, Matthew and Bryan all of California; a brother, Anthony and sister, Lillis Fleming both of Savannah. A private Memorial Mass will be held on July 20, 2004 with interment at the Lady of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery.
