Orton, Amy P. WATERFORD Amy Parsley Orton, 66, of Fonda Rd. passed away Friday, June 24, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Troy April 5, 1945 to the late Walter and Helen Rohloff Parsley. She was a graduate of Cohoes High School. Amy worked as a legal secretary to the Attorney General Offices in Albany, worked as a paralegal for a private law firm and was an independent medical and legal transcriptionist. She was a member of the Legal Secretaries Association of Saratoga County and past president. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford where she taught CCD, taught in home preparation for marriage and was a Eucharistic minister. She had a long affiliation with the LaSalle Institute Parents Club. Amy was the loving wife of William Raymond Orton; the devoted mother of William David Orton of Waterford, Matthew Raymond Orton and daughter-in-law Crystal Orton of Stillwater; and cherished grandmother of Joshua, Emma, Kenneth and Tristen Orton. Amy was a loving sister of the late Walter F. Parsley. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-8 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions to St. Mary's Cancer Treatment Center in Amsterdam in care of the funeral home office.
