ROCHESTER<B> </B>—<B> </B>Alphonse J. Ouellette, 90, died Monday, May 31, 2010, at the Hyder Family Hospice in Dover after a period of failing health, surrounded by his loving family.Mr. Ouellette was born in Berwick, Maine, on April 29, 1920, the son of Alphonse and Emma (Vaillancourt) Ouellette, Sr. He moved to Rochester in 1947. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a supervisor at Spang Lumber Co. He loved woodworking and furniture making. He was predeceased by his first wife, Yvette.Surviving members of his family include his wife, Regina; one sister, Marie Lefebvre of Rochester, as well as several nieces and nephewsCalling hours will be held at the H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main St., Rochester, on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Holy Rosary Church in Rochester.
