Alphonse Joseph Cormier 1932-2003 The death of Alphonse Cormier, husband of Emily (Deroche) Cormier, of Atlantic Ave., Moncton occurred after a lengthy illness at the Moncton Hospital Tuesday October 21, 2003. Born October 10, 1932 in Moncton, he was the son of Sylvain and Anna (Bourgeois) Cormier. Prior to his retirement Alphonse had been employed with McCormick's as a shipper receiver. A Catholic by faith, he had attended l'Assomption Cathedral. In addition to his wife, Emily, he is survived by one daughter, Jenny (Robert) Clavet of Dieppe; one son, Kenneth (Pauline) Cormier of Moncton; sisters, Doris Cormier and her special friend Henry of Minto; Margaret Jones of Kingston, Ont.; his brothers, Donald (Annette) Cormier of Dieppe; Roger (Linda) Robichaud of Shediac Bridge; and Aurele Cormier of Moncton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amanda, Stefanie and Dennis Clavet; Serge and Janelle Cormier as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Anna; his father Sylvain; his step mother, Eliza; as well as his sister, Doreen Cormier. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home (852-3530) 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton with visiting hours Thursday, October 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24 at 11 am in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home with a gathering to follow in the family reception room of the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Memorials placed in Alphonse's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. www.fairhavenfh.com
