SMITH Alma Rose August 3, 1908 - July 15, 2008 Passed away peacefully on the morning of July 15 with family by her side, just shy of her 100th birthday. Lovingly remembered by her children Ruth Lloyd, Bill Hayden (Yvonne), Muriel Gillott (Bill), Lorna Gordon (Ted), Donna Hill (Brian), Ken Hayden (Judy) and Gail Smith (Mike). She joins her daughter Eva who left us in April 2007 and son Gordon who died in infancy. She lived her life surrounded by the love of her children, 24 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren (who affectionately called her Gramma G) and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Peggy, nieces, nephews and many friends at Varsity Ridge Bowling Centre where she bowled four times a week until April 2008. A celebration of her life will take place on what would have been her 100th birthday, Sunday, August 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Canadian Memorial United Church, 1806 West 15th Avenue (at Burrard), Vancouver, B.C. In lieu of flowers a donation to Variety, The Children's Charity in her honour would be appreciated.
