BELFAST - Alma Marie (Roy) St.Peter, 91, died March 12, 2008, at Tall Pines Health Care Facility, Belfast. She was born June 20, 1916, in Stockholm, the daughter of Edith (Rossignol) and Denis Roy. Alma married Donat St.Peter, Aug. 1, 1932, and moved to Houlton, where they raised their children. Alma was employed for more than 25 years as a certified nurse's aide at Madigan Memorial Hospital. She was a strong woman of faith, a communicant at St. Mary's of the Visitation Church, Houlton, St. Mary's Church, Augusta and an Associate of the Sisters of Mercy. She will be remembered for her laughter and for giving more than she received. Family and friends were always welcome at her home and treated with good food including ployes and congo bars. In later years Alma lived in Augusta, South Portland and Belfast to be near her children. Alma was predeceased by her parents, her husband; daughter, Dina McGillicuddy; and son, Milford. She was also predeceased by brothers and sisters, Rene Roy, Eva Higgins, Odile Bishop, Edwina Daigle, Ella Guerette, Ernest Roy, Emma Newhouse, Lionel Roy, Shirley Suiter and Lillian Roy; and two infant brothers, Norman and James. Alma is survived by her children, Terrence St.Peter and wife, Linda, of Belfast, Karen St.Peter of Westbrook, Ronald St.Peter and wife, Marsha, of Massachusetts, and Michael St.Peter and wife, Elaine, of Connecticut; 12 grandchildren, Maureen and David Barden, Mike and Lori McGillicuddy, Joe McGillicuddy, Dan St.Peter, Denis and Sue St.Peter, Teresa St.Peter, Sherri St.Peter, Jeff and Tricia St.Peter, Chris and Jackie St.Peter, Shawn St.Peter, Kristen and Conrad Becker and Meghan St.Peter; 13 great-grandchildren, Alex and Caleb Barden, Mathew McGillicuddy, Ethan McGillicuddy, Justin and Tyler St.Peter, Mason and Connor Parks, Amelia and Simon St.Peter, Josh, Ryan and Riley St.Peter; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express deep appreciation to Tall Pines Nursing Home staff for their tender loving care and Beacon Hospice for end care. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 81 Court St., Belfast, with Father Brian Blanchette officiating. Refreshments will be served immediately after at the church. Spring interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Houlton.
