Obituary of Allie-Mae Williams


Allie Mae Williams, 80, died June 15, 2010, at her home. She was born in Dixie, Ga., and lived in Fort Pierce for 57 years, coming from Georgia. She was assistant manager of Williams Department Store, a floral designer, baker, interior decorator and fashion designer. She was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include husband, Willy Williams Sr. of Fort Pierce; sons, Bernard Lee Sirmons, Willy Williams Jr., and Mark H. Williams Sr., all of Fort Pierce; daughters, E. Syrelda Williams Hegunea of Fort Pierce and Cynthia Williams Drake of Vero Beach; brothers, Fred Sirmons and Jonas Sirmons, both of Fort Pierce, and Neal Sirmons of Thomasville, Ga.; sisters, Buria Bell Reddick of Cleveland, Laura Bernice Miles of Daytona Beach and Sarah L. Jones of Miami; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Williams Sr.; brothers, Levi Sirmons Jr. and Wilbur Sirmons. Services: Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. June 18 and from 9 to 10 a.m. June 19 at Sarah's Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. June 19 at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Howard Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Garden.
