Allen Simpson Following a brief battle with cancer, Allen Simpson of Coleman Township died with his loving family by his side at the Temiskaming Hospital on January 5, 2007. He was 64. He was born in North Cobalt on August 11, 1942 to Alfred Simpson and Gertrude Corville. Mr. Simpson was a longtime resident of Coleman Township, where he worked as a Road Superintendent for the Township of Coleman and dedicated his time to the Coleman Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Portage Bay. Mr. Simpson was predeceased by his parents; sister Ella Stubbs and brother Bert Simpson. He is survived by his loving wife Alana; children Cindy (Scott) Bolger and Steven (Mark Deacon) Simpson; grandchildren Bradley, Kimberley, William and Frederick; and siblings Alfred Jr. (Laurette) Simpson, June (Rene) Roy and Ada (Stan) Sloan. The funeral service was held from the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home on January 9. Reverend Brenda McMain officiated. Spring interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Haileybury. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Timiskaming Palliative Care Network will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
