Allen Eugene Kelly, Ph.D., PE, 73, died Sept. 30, 2007, at Palm Beach Gar´ dens Medical Center. He was born in Lima, Ohio, and moved to Hobe Sound in 1995 from Stillwater, Okla. Before entering the armed forces, he attended Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind., and was a member of Phi Del´ ta Theta fraternity. He served during the Kore´ an War in the 3rd Infantry Di´ vision, and afterwards as a member of the Army Reserves. He served as an Oklahoma Committee member of the Na´ tional Committee for Employ´ er Support of the Guard and Reserve. He was a life member of The Society of the Third Infantry Division. He graduated from Texas A&M College, earning bache´ lor's and a master's degrees in civil engineering. He was employed by General Dynamics/Fort Worth as a structural engineer. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. He worked as a project engi´ neer for Matlock, Hudson, Dawkins & Panak, Research Engineers Inc. in Austin, and he was a visiting assistant pro´ fessor at the Uni´ versity of Texas at Austin. He was associ´ ate dean for re´ search in the Col´ lege of Engi´ neering, Archi´ tecture and Technology at Ok´ lahoma State University. He was a member of the American Society of Civil En´ gineers; the Oklahoma and the National Society of Profession´ al Engineers; and Chapter Honor Member of the OSU chapter of Chi Epsilon, the  National Engineering Honor Society. After retirement, he served on the board of directors and two terms as president of the Eaglewood Homeowners Asso´ ciation in Hobe Sound. He served as president of the Stillwater Lions Club and was a Masonic Lodge officer. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughters, Beth Bu´ chan of San Antonio, Texas, and Cheryl Roach of Jupiter; son, David Kelly of Boca Ra´ ton; mother, Alice Kelly of Winter Haven; brothers, Har´ old Kelly of Chicago, Mike Kel´ ly of Elgin, Ill., and Chuck Kel´ ly of Cocoa Beach; sisters, Lin´ da Kelly of Chicago, Marilyn Kearsley of Silver Spring, Md., and Carolyn Kelly of Philadel´ phia; seven grandsons; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Bott. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis, Suite F, #227, 1659 Branham Lane, San Jose, CA 95118-5226. SERVICES: Memorial serv´ ices will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 5 at Young and Prill Funeral Home, Stuart Chapel. Inurn´ ment will be at Arlington Na´ tional Cemetery at a later date with full military honors.
