Lee, Allan R. "Dick" HALFMOON Allan R. "Dick" Lee, 72, died February 29, 2008 at his home after a short illness. He was born November 29, 1935 in Clifton Park. Dick lived in Clifton Park and Halfmoon all of his life. In 1954, Dick was in the first graduating class at Shenendehowa Central schools. He then attended Union College where he graduated from the GE Apprentice program. He was the son of the late Miles and Myrtle Brayer Lee. He was predeceased by four sisters, LuVina Herald, Ollie Lesson, Obia Milkins, Regina Cory and two brothers, John and Ernest "Bud" Lee. He started his career at Westvaco Pulp and Paper Co. in Mechanicville until its closing. He then worked for MCA/Universal Music Corporation in Gloversville as plant engineer, retiring in 1994. Until his death, he was extremely active in the town of Halfmoon. He was on the planning board for 14 years and he established the town's planning department. He also was the executive assistant to the town supervisor. Dick was vice president of the board of directors at Bishop Hubbard Senior Housing and a member of the Shenendehowa Futures Committee. He devoted eight years to the Army reserves and was a member of the Clifton Park Halfmoon Fire Co. He enjoyed coaching Mechanicville Lassie Softball league and St. Mary's girls basketball. In his spare time, he loved golfing, hunting, fishing and traveling with his family. Dick leaves behind his wife, Florence "Jean" Sweatt Lee of Halfmoon; four daughters, Karen (Jim) DuJack, Susan (Ed) Grennon, Erin (Jeff) Halter and Kristen (Scott) Gilman; three stepdaughters, Kathy (Richard) Chapman, Pat Price and Laurie (Scott) DuBois; a sister, Arlene (Joe) LaPlant; two brothers, Gerald (Lish) Lee and Raymond (Elaine) Lee; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Wednesday 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 7 North Main St., Mechanicville Calling hours, Tuesday 4-8 p.m. in the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Rte. 9, Clifton Park. Burial in the Hudson View Cemetery in Mechanicville. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 125 Wolf Rd. Albany, NY 12205.
