->Alice W. KingPoughkeepsie - Alice W. King, 93, beloved wife of the late Joacob J. King, mother of the late Sandra A. Pierson and grandmother passed away February 26th at the River Valley Nursing Center.Born July 9, 1920 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Joseph and Caroline (Manery) Reifenberger. She is survived by her Grandchildren Nanette Turner of St. Augustine, Florida and Bill Pierson II of Waynesboro, Tennessee. She is also survived by 4 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.She was a long time employee of Wallace's Department Store on the Main Street Mall and the Up-To-Date Store. Mrs King was active in her community and taught Sunday School for over 45 years at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Poughkeepsie. There will be a service on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Rev. Deborah DeWinter will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Poughkeepsie.Arrangements are under the direction of the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, Rhinebeck.
