AUGUSTA, Ga. - Alice V. Carter entered into rest on Saturday, November 12, 2005, at Brentwood Terrace in Waynesboro. She was a retired nurse anesthetist from the Augusta Veterans Administration Medical Center. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Service and burial will be held in Tennessee, under the direction of Jeffers Mortuary, 208 College Street, Greeneville, Tenn. Alice was a native of Greeneville, Tenn. and a graduate of Peabody College in Nashville. During retirement, she obtained Paralegal certification and a gerontology certificate from Augusta State University. She worked as a volunteer with different local agencies, a docent with the Richmond County Museum and last with the National Science Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kay and Fannie Carter, and a sister, Betty Loucinda Carter. Survivors include cousins, Mrs. Agnes B. Jowers and family of Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. Beulah M. Fink and family, Harold and Charles Brown, Dr. DiAnn B. Casteil and family, all of Tenn., Clay and Marge Hughes of Sacramento, Calif.
