ALICE "LOUISE"STONE, 81Winter Haven Hospital WINTER HAVEN - Alice "Louise" Stone, 81, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Winter Haven, died on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale due to a stroke. A native of Pigget, AK, she relocated to Winter Haven in 1957 from Nashville, TN. She was retired from Winter Haven Hospital, where she was an Administrative Assistant for the Mental Health Center. She also worked for Drs. Taxdal, Brackett and Garcia during the early days of Neurology & Neurosurgery Associates. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James "Boxhead" Stone, a retired principal of the Polk County School Board, and her granddaughter, Geri Cook. Survivors include her daughters, Sandy McMillen, Candy Rambeau, Sherri Cook, and Mari Stewart, all of Winter Haven, her sister, Retha English of Jacksonville, 4 grandchildren, Kendra Davis, Erin Drew, Matthew Cook, Trey Rambeau, and 2 great-grandchildren, Alex Stone and Brianna Davis. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 10, from 5-7 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 7 PM, at Crisp-Coon Funeral Chapel, Winter Haven, Fl. Memorial donations can be sent to the Good Shepherd Hospice at 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823.
