Obituary of Alice-Ruth Jackson


TRENTON - Alice Ruth Jackson, 79, of Trenton, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis.Born and educated in Union Springs, Ala., Mrs. Jackson has been a resident of Trenton for the past 54 years. She was formerly employed by the Bellevue Care Center, Lawrenceville Nursing Home, Circle F, and retired from the Trenton Board of Education.She was a member of Wayne Avenue Baptist Church.She was predeceased by her parents, Solomon Jackson and Velma Pugh, and two sons, Tyrone Bernard Jackson and Howard James Jackson, she is survived by one son, Solomon (Debbie) Jackson of Columbia, S.C.; three daughters, Velma Lewis of Ewing, Sheila Jackson-Walker and Alyce M. Jackson both of Trenton; one aunt, Lillian Pugh of Union Springs, Ala.; a special cousin, Gladys Green of Columbus, Ga; 15 grandchildren, John, Tierra and Daisha Jackson, William, Tyrone, Tyshia and Antonio Lewis, India Harden, Denise McCrae, Keyonna Melvin, Shikeya Baldwin, Monique and Troy King, Carl Moore and Jabree Clark; 26 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends including lifetime friends, Ms. Ethel, Ms. Bessie, Ms. Lizzie and Ms. Ann; and a special aunt, Jewel Davis.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday (Dec. 9) at Wayne Avenue Baptist Church, 30 Wayne Ave., Trenton. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
