DAVIS Alice Roberts Davis, 82, of Palatka died Saturday December 23, 2006 at her residence. She was a native of Springside, FL and had been a life long resident of Putnam County. She was a 1942 graduate of the Putnam High School (Mellon High School). She worked in the cafeterias at the Palatka Senior High School and the Palatka Junior High School. Later she worked at the Putnam County Property Appraisers Office as a clerk, retiring in the late 1970's. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Palatka, where she had taught Sunday school for many years, sung in the adult senior choir, was a member of W.M.U. and the J.O.Y. Club, kept records for the Vacation Bible School and had been recognized as Mother of the Year. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed working in her yard. She was very involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Davis; four brothers, Willie Roberts, Leroy Roberts, Harold Roberts and Walter Roberts; three sisters, Ruth Roberts, Bernice Howard and Clara French and her parents, B. F. and Minnie Roberts. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Rose Davis of San Diego, California, Larry and Sybil Davis of Silver Springs and Mike and Pam Davis of Palatka; two daughters and son-in-law, Paula Davis of Palatka and Peggy and Larry Dzioba of Palatka; three brothers, Roger Roberts of Bardin, Emory Roberts of Middleburg and J. B. Roberts of Palatka; one sister, Alene Morris of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren, Lucy Davis, Virna Edwards, Pam Ray, Tim Davis, Regan Theed, Larry B. Dzioba, Christopher Dzioba, Timothy Dzioba and Heather Robinson and thirteen great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday evening from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday December 30, 2006 at Masters Funeral Home, 3015 Crill Ave., in Palatka with Rev. John Miles officiating. Interment will follow in the Palatka Memorial Gardens. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to their favorite charity. Masters Funeral Home of Palatka is in charge of arrangements.
