Alice M. (Driscoll) O'Neill, died peacefully after a noble fight with failing health on Monday, August 13 at Newfield House in Plymouth, MA. Born September 4, 1924 to Mary and Dan Driscoll, she grew up on the Fellsway in Medford, MA with her sister Marie and brother Bernard, now deceased. Following graduation from the School of Nursing at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton, Mrs. O'Neill was appointed to the U.S. Public Health Service where she earned the rank of Captain. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip D. O'Neill for over 50 years. They were wonderful dance partners and avid bridge players. Alice was an accomplished homemaker and devoted mother. She will be remembered by friends not just in Massachusetts, but also in Camillus, NY and West Orange, NJ where family life took her. She is survived by six children: Philip D. O'Neill, Jr and his wife Lisa Arrowood of Lincoln, Joseph P. O'Neill of Quincy, daughter Maureen O'Neill Swink and her husband Phil of Newtown, CT, daughter Cathy J. O'Neill and her husband John Harding of Westwood, daughter Paula and her husband Donald R. Dickinson of Cohasset, and daughter Janice and her husband Rick Bertolami of Burlington, MA and 15 grandchildren. Funeral was from Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., (Rte. 60, adjacent to St. Agnes Church) Arlington on Friday, Aug. 17 at 11a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Agnes Church at 12 p.m. Visiting hours were Thursday, Aug. 16 from 5 - 8 p.m. Burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington.
